You Tell 'Em Sister!

From the news reports, it sounds that the March for Womens Rights yesterday in Washington, DC was a success. I'm so proud that so many people turned out for the event. THIS is the America that I know and love.

Random Passages

I saw this over at Peterme's. Seems kind of fun, so I'll jump on the bandwagon myself. 1. Grab the nearest book. 2. Open the book to page 23. 3. Find the fifth sentence. 4. Post the text of the sentence in your journal along with these instructions. Nearest book: Web Navigation: Designing the User Experience by Jennifer Fleming "The size of graphic elements provides clues." Hmmm... somehow I think it would be more interesting if I were home and took whatever fiction book I had on my night table.

I'm Ageless

Coolio! My site has been added to the Ageless Project website. The goal of the Ageless Project is to "send the message that the personal, creative side of the web is diverse and ageless". It includes personal sites from folks of all walks of life, location, and, of course, age. They even have sites from someone born in the 1920's. Man, when I'm 70-something, wearing purple with my hair dyed blue, I'm hope I'm that hip to the latest technology.

Haunting Image

I found a link to this image on Jeff Veen's site today. It's a mosaic of soldiers who have died in Iraq. It makes me sad to think of all the families behind each one of those images, and the pain they are going through, and for what? And I am not discounting all the lives touched, and the pain and suffering people have endured in other wars. They all make me sad.

M Minus 21 Hours

The movers are coming! The movers are coming! Yippee! Tomorrow the movers are coming to move my furniture and boxes to my new apartment. I'm so excited. No more sleeping on an air mattress or sitting on a step stool. The new place is shaping up nicely. My mom has been out here from CT since Sunday. She's been such a help wiping out cabinents, laying shelf lining paper, and running to the grocery store while I am at work. I don't know how I could have done this move without her. Well, I do know. But it would involve

There's No Place Like Home

Tonight is my first night in my new apartment. Most of my stuff won't arrive until April 10, when the movers show up. But I have a new futon and I'm bringing over enough clothes, towels, and paper plates to get by until then. I'm really excited about having my own place. And I'm sure Freesia will be happy about being Queen of a whole apartment. Here's what it looks like, though the master bedroom is on the left.
