Be an Election Protection Volunteer

In the last presidential election, millions of votes were never counted. Voters in minority communities were disproportionately disenfranchised through illegal disqualification, intimidation, and faulty voting machiens. The nonpartisan Election Protection coalition needs you to stand up and defend voting rights on November 2.

Wow. This group makes me happy. I wonder if I can pull it off and actually help?

I thought most of the disenfranchisement took place in Florida, or at least not in California. If you volunteer here, how effective will that really be? (just wondering)

If you read the site, you'll see that they have a select group of states that they are going to "disbatch" people to. They are focusing on Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, New Mexico, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.

Wisconsin and Michigan? I fibd it hard to believe there was a significant number (if any) of disenfranchised voters there.

So are you going to leave for one of those states, then? That would be a pretty cool reason to go.

Okay, so I read through the site, but I couldn't find anything that said where they got their information from. So I sent them an e-mail. Hopefully they'll get back to me with their sources, since voter disenfranchisement in Wisconsin is news to me (and I still follow Wisconsin news).
