This morning I had (yet another) Kanga moment. You know, those moments when you suddenly realize something that everyone else knew, but somehow you just didn't get the memo on? Like that Kanga and Roo (from Winny the Pooh) make the word kangaroo?
My latest moment: Iggy Pop was not part of the Sex Pistols. In fact, he isn't even British. Why the hell did I think he was part of them? I know the names Sid Vicious and Johnny Rotten. Why did I never put together that THEY were the Sex Pistols?
I'm feeling very, very dumb. And no matter how much I like The Clash, or walk around singing Anarchy in the UK, this forever bans me from thinking that I even remotely understood the Punk movement.
I also fear that I'll lose my indie/alternative British songs fangirl badge. Hopefully my knowledge and love of Morrissey, The Smiths, Echo & The Bunnymen, The Cure, et al will let me hold on to that.
